If you’re feeling a little nervous about your ne

If you’re feeling a little nervous about your newborn session, here are a few little things that can really take the pressure off:

– You don’t need to stress if your baby isn’t perfectly settled the whole time
– If your baby takes a dummy, bring it (it can be such a comfort)
– Feeds, nappy changes, snuggles? We work around them, always.

It’s not about having a “perfect” baby for photos.
It’s about creating a calm space where you can slow down and just soak them in. ❤️

I wish someone had told me these 3 things before I booked newborn photos:

The best shots aren’t the “perfectly posed, asleep in a basket” ones. They’re the ones where your baby’s pulling the funniest little face, clinging to your finger, or curled up on your chest mid-feed.

No newborn “co-operates” for a whole session. There will be nappy changes, cluster feeds, milk dribbles, and moments where they just want to be held. And those little interruptions end up being the bits you look at the most.

If you’re anything like most of the mums I know, chances are you’ve already forked out for the bassinet, the pram, the capsule, the baby monitor, the swaddles, the white noise machine, and at least one mysterious $180 Kmart haul you can’t fully account for.

And yet, when it comes to booking a newborn session it suddenly feels... too much.

Too extra.
Too indulgent.
Maybe even a bit selfish?

But honestly… it’s not about “treating yourself.” It’s about finally making space for the thing that’s probably been pushed to the bottom of the list for years...

I know how vulnerable it can feel to book a photo session, especially when you’re still finding your feet as a new mum, getting used to a new body, and running on next to no sleep.

But that’s exactly why I do things differently.

My sessions aren’t about perfection. They’re about presence. You don’t need to have it all together. You don’t need to know how to pose.

You just need to show up. I’ll guide you gently, talk you through every step, and hold space for the beauty that’s already there.

The result? Timeless images that tell your story and remind you of how much love you already have.

Some arrive flustered, tired, unsure how to pose with this new body that doesn’t feel quite like theirs.

And I get it.

I’ll talk to you the whole way, like we are old friends catching up. For most of the session, it won’t feel like you’re at a shoot. But in between our chats, I’ll gently guide you so you never feel awkward or unsure.

Nobody really talks about this…
But sometimes the hardest seasons?
They’re actually the most meaningful time to have photos taken.

When things feel messy, uncertain, or like you’re just trying to keep your head above water, it can feel like the worst time for a shoot.

But here’s the truth!
These are the moments you’ll look back on and think,
“We made it through that.”
“Look how much love was there, even when things felt hard.”

You’re sleep-deprived, overwhelmed, in love, and maybe still trying to find your footing in this new version of you.

You’re showing up, loving hard, and giving everything you’ve got.

And I want you to be able to look back on this chapter, not just through your phone camera, but through soft, thoughtful photos that show how deeply loved your baby was, and how present you were, too.

One of the most common questions I receive during

One of the most common questions I receive during my sessions is “how long have you been doing this for”.

I instinctively reply with the amount of years I have been a newborn photographer, but after today’s session I stopped and reflected on my journey. I have been doing “this” for 11 years, but that 11 years has seen so much growth and change.

When I look at where I started, I’m incredibly proud of where my photography is today. My work is at a level that I used to look up to other photographers for ❤️ I’m still in a journey, still learning and still growing. But for today I’ll appreciate where all the hard work has gotten me.
